Entry: sinistral (adj.)
In context: "Sinistral, his right hands missing digits from a fireworks accident three Interdependence Days past..."
Definition: Adverse; unlucky. Obs. rare.
Other: DFW is being pretty funny here. See the etymology for sinister (adj.):
Etymology: < Old French senestre, sinistre (modern French sinistre, = Portuguese sinistro, Italian sinistro, Spanish siniestro), or Latin sinister left, left-hand. The more original senses of the word are in English later and less common than the transferred.
The site is back to being updated, hopefully regularly. I've decided to forego Internet access at home to focus on several projects. This means I'll be staying after work to add new entries. This is all fine and good, but I'm on a bit of an archaic machine with a wonky browser. If things are showing up differently, please let me know. If I miss a day, I ask for your patience in advance.
