SNOOT

What is the SNOOT score?

The full-serving background and explanation can be found here.

In Wallace's words, "SNOOTs are just about the last remaining kind of truly elitist nerd."  There Wallace is referring mostly to the correct employment of (often-arcane) grammatical rules and conventions.*

I submit, however, that without a well-developed (and generally arcane and unusable) vocabulary, one cannot get past the coat check of even the most mid-level SNOOT clubs.  The SNOOT score (on a scale of 1-5), then, reflects how likely a particular entry is to, as it were, get you to the bar.

*As will likely become obvious, the author of this blog relies more strongly on an intuitive rather than formally-developed grammatical sense, and as such, cannot properly be considered a SNOOT or even a SNOOTlet
