Entry: panagoraphobia (n.)

In context: "Even then, of course, the bulk of U.S. consumers remained verifiably reluctant to leave home and teleputer and to interface personally, though this phenomenon's endurance can't be attributed to the videophony-fad per se, and anyway the new panagoraphobia served to open huge new entrepreneurial teleputerized markets for home-shopping and -delivery, and didn't cause much industry concern."

Definition: Well, agoraphobia is, "is an anxiety disorder characterized by anxiety in situations where it is perceived to be difficult or embarrassing to escape. "  Pan, as a prefix, means all.  So, basically an anxiety disorder centered around the fear of leaving the home.  Which he basically says in the section.  Nertz.

Other: Pgs. 145-151 are especially excellent - well worth a re-read.

There is a predictably nearly interminable list of phobias.  Not sure if I have one - except typing all in caps.  That literally gives me the fantods, which is why I so hated typing the previous day's passage.
